I am considering a swap from a M-20 to a powerglide or TH 350
My 57 has a 67 Chevelle 283 with a Muncie 4 speed.
Will the flywheel have to be changed?
Anyone have a PG or TH they might like to swap?

HI there,
#1, yes, I would always replace the flywheel anyway due to age.
#2, remember you may have to shorten the propeller shaft in between the tailshaft of the transmission and the yoke of the differential.
I will have to dig in my archives tomorrow AM to confirm my suspicions.
And make sure that the transmission cooler is more than adequate as the TH350 does generate a little more heat.

HI there,
After some major digging, a few things I found out.
#1, yes, obtain a flexplate and they are readily available.
#2, the research on the driveshaft/propeller shaft shows me that it is all the same from transmission to the differential. P/N was 3712381 from 55-62 with no breakdown or specific changes between the manual transmission and automatic transmission.

Thank you Paul,
I appreciate your research.
When I pursue the swap I'll let you know if I find a PG or a TH
