Default Whining sound coming new transmission

After I installed new automatic transmission it has started to whine when the power is going to transmission. When I take foot off gas the whine goes away. Anyone else have this issue

    Hi there,

I would ask for a year and model please.

Then, are you certain you didn't have that noise before????

Does the noise change based on the gear that you select????

2010 grand sport and the noise only in gear. Not noticeable in neutral or park

    HI there,,

I mean if you are in a certain gear range, do you hear it in 3rd and not in 5th or hear it in 6th and not in 4th???

Did you refill the differential after the it was reinstalled ???

And one other question: Does the whine occur when you are NOT MOVING??

Yes but not as loud. It gets louder once I’m gear

    HI there,

Unfortunately, you have a bad torque converter stator one way clutch.

When you are up at highway speeds, it will most likely lower and even disappear when the torque converter engages fully.

Was this a General Motors Service Replacement transmission assembly????

A new torque converter was installed when I replaced the transmission

I had local shop rebuild the transmission and supply the new converter

Unfortunately, I have seen new torque converters have this issue.

I would say if my description of the noise going away at highway speeds or even speeds above 45 mph is accurate, I still stand by my diagnosis.
