    Default blue smoke on start up...

    Hi All;

    I have an 09 coupe with headers, cam, CAI, Fast 102 intake and tune.

    It has 27k and I recently noticed a small blue puff of smoke on start up.

    Occurs each time if it sits long enough.

    Valve seals / guides come to mind but asking a Corvette Shop, that said they never heard of an LS3 having blue smoke on start up.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks...

    Valve guides and seal is the most likely culprit, any engine can have it happen.

    Thanks for the reply LLC5.

    I spoke to the Vette shop about the issue and they said they have never seen an LS3 do this (or even and LS2).

    They did the cam and said when they swapped the valve rods and springs they used the OEM seals.

    I may bring it to them for diagnosis.

    Appreciate the input and hope it's not valve guides!

    Find another shop! I bet they used the wrong seals. If you have not paid them yet cancel payment. No excuse, just think if that was your heart!
