Default Rattlesnake rattle changing between 1st 2nd and 3rd?????

Iv got a strange rattle when changing gear between 1st 2nd and 3rd on my 05 6 speed manual
I don't have any rattling at idle only changing gear.
The only way i can describe the sound and the feel is like the rattler on a rattle snake, that's the closest thing i can think of.
I have heard of bad torque tube etc but i believe that is a rattle coming from underneath the car like marbles in a can but this seems different to that.
Anyone else have this? or an idea what it could be?
    Cheers

I have it, haven't figured it out yet.

Mine is not necessarily WHEN I shift, but it does occur at certain/same rpms.

I wonder if it might be a loose/broken/wearing out cat converter on mine.

What part of the country do you live in? Maybe it is a rattlesnake. Sorry couldn't help myself.

I'm going to fit an MGW short shifter in the new year and hopefully that will cure it as i am leaning towards the theory its worn bush's in the bottom of the shift box thats making the vibration up the shift shaft, so will give an update on the result once installed.
